For DS-SO2 this happens for mu larger than about 3. Concerning the file for February 1997 There are several days only 1 and 2 good ZS-measurements but some exhibit slightly higher std.dev.'s for O3 than those that cause the measurements to be accepted as 'good'. Despite the large SO2-values, days 19 and 24 February 1997 are considered OK. Concerning the file for October 1997/98 All large negative SO2 are for ZS because of large mu as per opening comment. For October 1998, there may have been a huge plume from the power plant passing the Brewer's line of sight.
